Asset Management Improvement Partnership – 10.12.24
Asset Management Improvement Partnership (AMIP) will be taking place on Tuesday 10 December 2024 at Harrow School.
The final AMIP meeting of 2024 will feature an engaging day of debates and roundtable discussions on critical topics in the social housing sector which will include the three sessions listed below:
- Session 1: Repair, Replace or Rebuild? – With an additional £10 million to spend, where would investments make the most impact? In this session, we’ll explore the tangible differences each strategy could bring to tenant satisfaction, long-term asset health and sustainability goals. This debate will bring out contrasting views on whether focused repairs, full-scale rebuilds or environmental upgrades deliver the greatest value for our sector and communities.
- Session 2: The Role of Social Value – Purpose vs Profit (THE REMATCH) – As organisations operating in the social housing sector, are we meeting community needs without compromising financial viability? This session invites a candid discussion on the potential trade-offs between social impact and economic sustainability, challenging participants to rethink how we can genuinely integrate social value in a way that enhances resilience and community development.
- Session 3: Social Housing Roundtable with Matt Baird – Founder of the weekly Social Housing Roundtable, Matt will lead this final session on tackling the social housing sector’s critical challenges: a skills shortage driven by operative and staff attrition, recruitment and retention difficulties and the need to engage young talent to ensure the sector’s future attractiveness and resilience.
During the lunchtime period, delegates will be able to participate in a tour of historic rooms and buildings at Harrow School, where Winston Churchill was educated and was more recently used as a film location for Harry Potter and The Crown.
There is free car parking for all attendees. Delegates will be able to enjoy a quintessential cream tea as part of the day, with scones, cream and jam as well as cream cakes offered in the mid-afternoon break.
We are asking all delegates to bring a book for Grange School, a local primary school in Harrow where 30% of pupils receive Free School Meals. Grange Primary School have asked for copies of Harry Potter or poetry books from authors such as Maya Angelou, Carol Ann Duffy or Kwame Alexander.
The meeting will commence at 10am and all attendees must be registered no later than Tuesday 26th November 2024. The meeting will finish at 4pm.
