Learn how to manage condensation mould in your home
EIP has teamed up with chartered building surveyor Geoff Hunt to produce a training video, and associated flyer, on managing condensation mould in the home.
Geoff, author of RICS Residential Building Defect, explains that condensation can’t be cured and gives tips and practical advice on how residents can use the resources at their disposal to manage it in their homes and to keep the balance right.
The video, which is free to download, follows our Guide to Managing Condensation Mould booklet, co-created with Geoff, which has been widely distributed throughout the sector and both build on the work of our Disrepair Improvement Groups (DIG), developed with Riverside Housing to refocus the conversation around damp and mould, and achieve better outcomes for tenants.
The agenda is delivered through interactive online meetings, ‘ask the expert’ sessions and masterclasses led by industry experts, such as Geoff.
Aside from the regular DIG meetings there have also been one-off sessions including an online forum exploring the challenges faced by the cost-of-living crisis and fuel poverty, delivered in partnership with HACT and Tpas, and a Q&A with Housing Ombudsman Richard Blakeway and Rebecca Reed.
There are now 350 DIG members from 181 individual organisations, including housing associations, local authorities, contractors, suppliers and solicitors, as well as Tpas, HACT and CIH.
DIG meetings are free for AMIP members to attend and you can view the events calendar at https://www.echelonip.co.uk/future-events/
